Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher mysteries are a whole bunch of fun. Phryne is an ass-kicking woman who is years ahead of society. Phryne lives in Australia in the 1920s. Her stories are a bit far-fetched, but you don't mind since the stories are so entertaining.
